The Life University
What We Actually Do
Our "Life University" isn't a building, it's a curriculum for independent life, delivered alongside safe, high-quality accommodation. Every young person's plan is different, but it draws from the same core pillars:
Pillar 1:
Trauma-Responsive Living
A home environment designed and staffed with an understanding of trauma, not in spite of it. Ensuite accommodation reduces the everyday risk points that can undermine safety and dignity for young people with difficult histories.
Pillar 2
Life Skills & Pathways
Structured, practical support to build the skills of independent adulthood: budgeting, cooking, tenancy management and confidence, alongside active support into volunteering, education, apprenticeships and employment. We don't wait for young people to be "ready” we help build that readiness.
Pillar 3
Space to Talk
Access to therapeutic conversation and reflection, giving young people a consistent space to process their experiences, not just crisis support, but ongoing, relational check-ins that build emotional resilience over time.
Pillar 4
Financial Literacy
Practical, hands-on sessions on budgeting, benefits, saving, and managing money; the everyday skills that are too often assumed rather than taught.
Pillar 5
Health & Wellbeing
Including sexual health education and sessions, alongside broader physical and mental wellbeing support delivered in a way that's honest, non-judgemental and age-appropriate.
Pillar 6
Community Integration
Creating spaces where personalities and passions bloom.
Community integration is not an afterthought, it is the bridge between the home and the world. For our children and young people (CYP), belonging to something bigger than themselves is transformative. It builds identity, purpose and resilience and generates ripple effects that benefit the wider community long after they leave our care.
